Age Concern Powys joins Age Cymru family

Published on 17 May 2012 12:30 PM

Age Cymru Powys is the latest local Age Concern in Wales to join the Age Cymru family of charities and change its name to Age Cymru Powys.

Peter Cornell, Chair of Age Concern Powys says:

"This is a very exciting time for our charity and a time of change, but Age Cymru Powys - as we will soon be known - will continue to provide support and services for people living in the county.

"Local people will still be able to access our free, confidential, information and advice service and be supported by our advocacy programme and our other projects.

"Being part of the Age Cymru family will give us the opportunity to work together with a wide network of local Age Cymru partners, and the national charity Age Cymru to provide a wealth of benefits and opportunities for older people."

Age Cymru's Chief Executive Officer Robert Taylor, says:

"I am delighted that Age Concern Powys has decided to become an Age Cymru partner to work with us to deliver our goals of improving later life for all.

"Age Cymru Powys - as the charity will become known, will remain an independent organisation providing the vital, high-quality services direct to older people in Powys on which Age Concern Powys has built its excellent reputation.

"But by working together in partnership the combined strength, knowledge and know-how of Age Cymru Powys and Age Cymru will help us make life even better for older people across Wales."
