Scams advice

Age Cymru heard recently about an older woman in Cwmbach, Aberdare who was conned out of £500 by a man pretending to be a gardener.
This unfortunate woman phoned the number on a leaflet and paid the man up front. Sadly, he was never seen again.
This again highlights the need for older people to be wary of scammers.
Age Cymru advises the public not to respond to flyers pushed through your letterbox offering cheap work on your home.
You should always employ reputable local traders, preferably securing three quotes before deciding who to employ.
You should also only pay when you are happy with the work that has been done.
