A CARMARTHENSHIRE based older people's charity has received a £750 donation from Tata Steel to help deliver several new projects in the county.
Age Cymru Sir Gâr will use the donation in Llanelli, Morfa and Penyfan to run reminiscence sessions and Low Impact Functional Training (LIFT) for older people.
Tata Steel donated this money as part of its Future Generations community partnership programme, improving the communities and charities close to their key sites in Wales.
Chief Officer of Age Cymru Sir Gâr, Ann Dymock says;
"We are very grateful for this grant as it will help us to deliver fun and sociable activities for older people in Carmarthenshire.
"Each activity will help us combat the isolation and loneliness still felt by many older people across Wales."
Tata Steel's Community Liaison Manager (Wales) Nia Singleton, who helped arranged the donation says:
"We have a very proud tradition of supporting older people, many of whom have worked for Tata Steel in the past.
"We are thrilled to be able to support such innovative ways that help bring older people out of their homes and into community groups where they can meet old friends and make new ones."

Age Cymru Afan Nedd, Age Cymru Mold, Age Cymru Newport and Age Cymru Sir Gar have each received a £750 donation from Tata Steel.
Projects and events range from trips out in Port Talbot, enhancing the information and advice service in Mold, purchasing iPads in Newport and delivering reminiscence and LIFT sessions in Llanelli, Morfa and Penyfan.
