Ready Steady Knit: the innocent Big Knit is back to craft a better future for older people in Wales with Age Cymru

Join the Age Cymru Partnership and get involved in the much-loved Big Knit campaign which is back for another year. The Age Cymru Partnership and innocent drinks is urging people to knit little hats for innocent smoothie bottles which will help raise vital funds for the charity.  

Every year, an army of woolly warriors take up their knitting needles and crochet hooks as part of the Big Knit initiative that has been running since 2003.   The charity has a wide range of patterns from a simple stripey bobble hat to a unicorn and everything in between. Or you can be creative and design your own. Knitting is the perfect activity for whiling away the winter evenings.   

Join the fun, grab your knitting needles, start stitching and help make a real difference. Every hat knitted will raise vital funds to ensure the Age Cymru Partnership can continue to provide services to older people across Wales. 

You can drop off your hats at a participating local Age Cymru office or post them to us. The deadline to hand in your hats is 1 July 2025, so there’s plenty of time to get creative.
