Transition: Feeling welcome
When someone moves into a care home, it’s a time of significant change. They may be recovering from a hospital stay, have experienced a bereavement, or had a decline in physical health or mental capacity.
They also may not initially have any of the objects that provide the familiarity of home. Providing a good transition into a care home can provide psychological safety and positively impact on a residents’ ability to find their place within a care home.
